● Homestead Group Residence

Homestead at Havenhill

The Havehill Homestead is a part time or full time housing for up to five adults that have a developmental disability. They live on the farm in the primary residence and participate in the daily activities alongside farm membership community. The residence is operated by Common Digs Community Homestead, a not-for-profit organization. The support team includes a family chef and disability support worker. The Homestead is overseen by a Board of Directors which includes family members, community professionals and a Board Certified Psychologist.

At Havenhill, every day is full of possibility. Mornings start with buffet self serve breakfast and then out for some task time in the gardens or barn studios. After lunch we move through a mix of creative sessions, outdoor adventures, and leisurely moments to connect and explore. Evenings bring everyone together—preparing and sharing meals in the dining room or outdoor patio, gathering for campfires, game playing and building the kinds of friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

● Respite and Retreat Camping - FUTURE PLAN

The Cabins

We are dreaming of respite retreats cabins, just the right size for an overnight stay, game playing and reading. Tucked into the trees, they offer a cozy retreat where small groups of friends or family can rest, connect, and restore their souls. All campers have access to the full farm and main dining areas for meals

Inside the cabins:

●︎ One common area with a double bed and twin-size bunk beds
●︎ Small open area for reading and relaxing
●︎ Composting toilet and wash basins
●︎ Outdoor covered porch for relaxing, snoozing and game play
● Lockable doors and cameras for security and safety

● Dining

Mealtimes

Mealtimes at Havenhill are fresh, flexible, full of flavour and fun. Our breakfast buffet and family-style meals means everyone can mix and match made-from-scratch comfort food. Whenever possible, we source ingredients from our own farm, and there’s always plenty of healthy snacks available.

Everyone helps in the menu planning, shopping and preparing of meals —so everyone leaves with a full belly and heart.

● Meaningful Work

Studios & Gardens

The barn studios and gardens are a hub of activity. Throughout the day there are always tasks to tend to whether it be feeding or caring for the animals (chicken, ducks, rabbits, goats and mini horses), tending the compost or making compost pellets, planting, weeding, seed savings and harvesting in the gardens. Our barn studios are also equipped for creativity with tea and balm making, crafting, flower arranging and photography. There is always something to be done - with an empasis on joy, an ease of pace and practice of gratitude.

● Rest

Leisure Activities

Rest and leisure at Havehill are interwoven into each day. There’s plenty of places to put your feet up or laze in a hammock, sit by the water or stroll out into the gardens. Evenings bring campfires under the stars, movie nights, and the kind of easy laughter that comes with being outdoors together. These moments balance the meaningful work in the fields and studios, giving campers full days of adventure, connection, and play.
